"Gary Marlow, working for The Mid Sussex Sports Partnership has been in a school that has been graded as Inadequate by Ofsted.  Although, overall the report is disappointing, Gary, from Global Tennis has been introducing a range of strategies such as Adventure Based Learning and Young Play Leaders in year 6 resulted in these comments by Ofsted Inspector. "Gary, who is a Federation of Small Business Member is pleased with the work Global Tennis has been doing in the school; however there is a long way to go to reach the overall high standards Global Tennis sets for itself and looking forward to its continued work with Heyworth."
Peer observation - Chris Marsden (Sports Coach UK Development Officer)

"Gary, I would like to thank you for all the hard work you have put into the tennis in the primary schools in the Peacehaven area. I have always received positive feedback from your sessions and the children have very much enjoyed themselves.
Also the sports leaders have thoroughly enjoyed your "Road to Eastbourne" preparation for their sessions and gained a lot from them.
Thank you once again, the partnership will miss your hard work and the input you have given.
Regards"
Colette Barry

Peacehaven Community School

"Willingdon Primary School, thoroughly enjoyed the day. The mornings activities were well organised and relevant to the children's experiences, It has given many children a 'taste' for tennis, which will hopefully become a lifetime hobby."
Jo Gregory (Dep. Head)

The Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Graham Marsden, said, "Mr Marlow and his team are to be congratulated on working so hard to promote active participation in sport."

The Mayoress of Eastbourne, Mrs Kay Marsden, said, "I was very impressed with the commitment of all of the coaches for each sport and the way in which they give up so much of their own time in order to help promote sport among the young.

Gary "strode toward me looking a cross between Lee Evans and Andy Townsend. He is probably the youngest club chairman anywhere. Marlow clearly has an entrepreneurial streak. And his other major quality seems to be that he puts words into action"
Mike Donovan, The Argus

"Gary Marlow is a man of many ideas and if he gets his way, our international tennis centre will at last be utilised to its full potential"
Ken McEwan, Eastbourne Herald

Activity: Allsports Camp
Just some quick feedback on the sports camp today. Abi was not very keen to go today. She was worried since it was a new venue and she thought there would be lots of people she did not know. To be fair P.E is not her favourite subject at school so she was very doubtful! I gave her my usual advice and said, 'it will be fine once you get there', and it was.
Abi had a great day and is very proud of her trampoline achievements. Ten seat drops in a row!! Asked all the way home when she would be able to go again! A real confidence boost for someone who is not great at sport generally.
Many thanks for setting this up and for those involved in running the sessions. Abi is very impressed.
Regards
Debbie (Tuesley)

"The staff are highly skilled and the nursery employs specialist teachers for music and physical education, helping children to make especially good progress in their physical and creative development".
(Ofsted 2009 Horsham Nursery)

"In Year 6, however, pupils make good progress. Because this year group has developed much better listening and other personal skills, they cooperate well in discussion tasks and thus learn well".

"The local sports development officer is supporting the introduction of playground games which is having a positive impact on pupils".
(Ofsted 2009 Heyworth Primary School, Haywards Heath)
